Meeting Update - January 2020

Due to the general election our December WI meeting was relocated to the Cross House Doynton where members enjoyed a fantastic festive supper and teams went head to head with our annual Christmas quiz.

Continuing with the festive spirit, on the Friday 20th December members of the local community gathered at the Village Hall to sing Candlelit Christmas Carols around the proudly lit Christmas Tree. The singers thawed out afterwards in the hall whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine, and feasting on a spread of home-made sausage rolls and mince pies served up by the WI team. A special thanks to Maria, Sue, Kerry & Pam for organising the evening.

On Thursday 9th January WI members had the opportunity to embrace the New Year with guest speaker Dr Ashish Bhatia, local GP, founder of Really Well Being and yoga expert. Dr Ashish provided us with an enlightening lecture on the health science behind the importance of improving the quality of our daily sleep patterns. Members enjoyed running through a range of relaxation exercises from connecting with the body’s core to outstretching arms to soak in the outside environment (also known as the Julie Andrews method although singing the hills are alive with the sound of music is optional!)
